Driving innovation in pandemic prevention and RNA virus diagnosis
PAIR researchers met in Riga to advance PANPOC prototype and PANRISK database
On September 11 and 12, the PAIR consortium met in Riga for its second General Assembly, hosted by project partner BIOR, to align on the project’s scientific progress and next steps towards innovative tools for pandemic prevention.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress and exchange expertise, but most of all to showcase the scientific advances emerging from the project.
Researchers are now paving the way towards the final PANPOC prototype, which will soon be ready to demonstrate its potential for improving pathogen detection and surveillance. In parallel, PANRISK is moving forward with new steps in the construction and validation of its database, a key resource for assessing and managing risks linked to animal and public health.
The meeting combined plenary updates with parallel sessions, where partners worked in smaller groups to exchange views on the development of the technologies at the heart of PAIR. Following these focused discussions, a wrap-up session brought the ideas together, opening the way for a first reflection on the common language and strategies needed to eventually scale up the technologies and take an important step towards their wider application.
Through plenary and parallel working group discussions, partners shared insights, tested approaches, and aligned strategies, ensuring that PAIR continues to transform innovation into tangible tools for early detection and pandemic prevention.
