PAIR Project First General Assembly Successfully Closed

On 18 and 19 September 2024, PAIR partners met in Padova to share the updates and next steps of the project.

Many presentations and fruitful discussions involved the 21 partners during this first General Assembly.

After setting deadlines and administrative tasks, all Work Packages presented their updates and next steps foreseen to make the project advance.

At the core of the meeting were PANPOC and PANRISK, the two technologies PAIR aspires to develop and implement.

Two specific parallel rooms were dedicated to the study and analysis of the advancements and progress respectively of PANPOC and PANRISK. Each room gathered the partners that are working on each technology to share ideas and examine research direction and current results.

As the PANRISK group is charting its course to ensure risk prediction and pandemic preparedness, the PANPOC group developed the first prototype of PANPOC – the Point-of-Care fluorescence-based instrument for ultra-rapid diagnosis of RNA respiratory viruses.

All partners gathered again in the plenary room to listen to the status of the work on PAIR’s social and policy implications, as well as the communication and dissemination activities to make the world aware of PAIR outcomes.

All the partners participated actively driven by sincere interest in the project’s success and celebrating the great results already achieved during these first nine months of the project.

The meeting has been an occasion to meet face-to-face for the first time and make the research even more concrete by putting all pieces of the puzzle together to ensure a greater impact.
